I work for a very small company and so they cannot afford to send us on training courses very often. Sometimes it is necessary for us to update our skills and they do their best to cut costs elsewhere to pay for it and make sure that we have all of the skills that we need to be able to do our jobs. They have recently been looking at everyone doing some online soft skills training because think that we could learn something really valuable but not cost them too much money. It also means that we can even do the courses in our own time if things are busy in the office. Being a small company we are always happy to do what we can to help out with making the business run more smoothly or cut costs and many of us work overtime for free at times. I am hoping that I will be able to get some online HR training soon because I am responsible for HR and I need to keep on top of all of the new rules and regulations so that I know that our little company is keeping up with any changes in the law. It is quite a responsibility but one that I enjoy having.
